We are excited to welcome Ritka, a seasoned funding and development expert with a passion for a better world.
We’re thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Ritka Harju, who joins Infine as our Research and Data Development Lead. Ritka brings with her an impressive track record as a high-impact funding expert and leader in international development. Her extensive career in the NGO sector, particularly her 14-year tenure as Funding Director at Finn Church Aid (FCA), has shaped her into a unique powerhouse of knowledge in the world of sustainable development funding.
With a global vision and hands-on approach, Ritka has excelled in establishing key initiatives, including setting up FCA’s office in Washington DC, USA and launching FCA Investments Ltd., FCA’s own investment fund. Her ability to strategically mobilise resources from private donors, foundations, corporate partners, and large-scale grants has been vital to FCA’s mission as Finland’s largest humanitarian organisation, with a budget of €75 million.
Beyond FCA, Ritka’s journey spans various industries, beginning in ICT and banking, and later transitioning to the NGO sector with a deep personal commitment to human rights. She’s held roles at Amnesty International, both in Finland and internationally, driving fundraising and campaign initiatives that have left a lasting impact. Her experience in funding acquisition, project management, and network-building, both locally and globally, makes her an invaluable asset to Infine.
Driven by Passion, Powered by Vision
Ritka’s motivation stems from a profound belief in the importance of the cause she champions. As she puts it:
“Last spring, I had the chance to join a futures strategy workshop in Copenhagen, where we focused on the evolving landscape of the food industry. This experience deepened my belief that sustainability isn’t just essential for businesses to thrive in the future – it’s a powerful, undeniable advantage that resonates deeply with consumers.
My journey – from my early days in the private sector to my work with human rights and humanitarian causes – has shaped a worldview where purpose meets action. I am convinced that a sustainability-focused startup delivering real, impactful solutions is not only timely but is paving the way for a better, more resilient future.”
Her top skills, including strategic communication, organisation, and funding, align seamlessly with Infine’s mission to support companies in making sustainability not just a commitment but a strategic advantage. Ritka’s background and her experience with large-scale financial management provide Infine with a unique edge in the field of data-driven sustainability.
Welcome to Infine, Ritka!
We’re delighted to have Ritka join our sustainability and funding efforts at Infine. Her track record of creating transformative impact, both in Finland and globally, will bring invaluable strength to our team as we continue to grow and innovate in the field of sustainable business.
