Infine Insight’s sustainability dimensions have been updated to better meet our customers’ needs.
To lead sustainability efforts in the food industry sector, we need a clear understanding of what sustainability is and the elements it consists of. We must also have the knowledge and confidence that the sustainability data is accurate and based on reliable sources.
Infine Insight analyses the sustainability of food products using a science-based approach, covering the entire production chain.
We have streamlined the number of dimensions from nine to seven. In addition, we have included two aspects as new separate dimensions that we regognised as crucial for food sustainability:
- Animal Welfare
- Health and Safety
In addition to reorganizing previous sustainability features, the content has been further clarified. The new dimensions more comprehensively consider the themes of the ESRS standards and the structure of the EU taxonomy.
The updated dimensions now better cover perspectives that are important to consumers.
Validated in Collaboration with Food Data Finland
In the new dimensions, we have carefully taken into account issues that emerged as important and timely for the industry during stakeholder engagement in our Food Data Finland project. For environmental and climate topics, our work is supported by research conducted in collaboration with Finnish Environment Institute Syke.
One of the objectives of the Food Data Finland project was to validate the selected dimensions in cooperation with our partners and ensure that the dimensions meet the needs of our partners, industry standards, and EU reporting frameworks. We are grateful for the collaboration, which resulted e.g. in an increased focus on the role of nutritional values in sustainability and the adoption of new data sources.

Infine Insight provides unique sustainability information for the food industry by utilizing reliable, publicly available third-party data sources.
Our sustainability analyses are based on science and the product sustainability assessment framework used by our sustainability panel. The rules of our service are documented and transparent. We can always verify which reasons and facts lead to the given analyses.
